Driver Rescued By Bystanders After Crashing Into Potomac River In Virginia

A group of Good Samaritans came to the aid of a driver who found themself in a perilous position after crashing into the Potomac River.

On Wednesday night, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the area of Waynewood Boulevard and George Washington Memorial Parkway, where there was a report of a vehicle that crashed and splash landed in the water.

According to investigators, before firefighters arrived, bystanders in the area were able to help extricate the occupant of the vehicle, who suffered undisclosed injuries and was hospitalized. 

No other details were initially released.
